It's my birthday and I'll buy if I want to

So this week it was my birthday and I spent most of the day over indulging in cake and vino, because if you can’t on your birthday when else can you?  In my wine haze and sugar rush I started putting together a little birthday wish list.  Now I am purely just lusting after these beauties but if I lust hard enough, hopefully 1 or 2 will come my way.  Make a wish.....

Stylists Clothes Sale

So after very little sleep, injuring myself with a label gun, a pulled shoulder from carrying suitcases heavy enough to bring down an Easy Jet plane and a troop of helpers I can only name the Glam Squad.....the clothes sale finally happened!

The girls looking happy with their purchases

My youngest shopper of the day

It started off fairly quiet but little did we know that a herd of girls in tutu’s, fairy wings and even a Penguin suit in desperate need of some styling had just finished the Race for Life at Old Deer Park across the road.  As they popped in for a celebratory drink to wet their dehydrated whistles, I kindly coaxed them into a room full of cupcakes, champers and clothes of every style.

It was a fantastic day with a donation of the proceeds made to Macmillan Cancer Support. I want to thank The Online Stylist, Isabella Oliver and Style Sequel for kindly donating their unwanted attire and also to the lovely guys and girls that helped me stay sane during the day! I hope to hold another sale again soon so keep checking the blog for details.

Fashion Olympics

By far, this was my favourite moment from the Olympic closing ceremony.  Totally unexpected and knowing that my eyes had already crossed the stunning models and their outfits on the pages of UK Vogue literally just over a week ago made it feel like the shoot came to life! Proud to be British x

Serious shoe envy

I need these shoes in my life!
Miu Miu Mary Jane's with glitter sole and heel are due for release this month in a selection of colours. I haven't been able to find pricing yet but I'm sure it's close to my monthly mortgage payment. Worth it? I think so, do you?

Nude or Peacock?

Bloggers Yard Sale

Super Blogger Susie Bubble AKA Style Bubble will be hosting a Bloggers Yard Sale this Saturday 11th August. Expect to see Designer, vintage and high street finds from Susie herself, as well as bloggers Style Crusader, Girl A La Mode and Lust and Found. I'll be going along for a nose, will you?

You're invited

So I've decided to have a bit of a (late) spring clean! This mainly consists of clearing out all of the clothes and accessories I have accumulated from shoots and TV shows over the years and I will be holding a little fashion sale. This is an open invitation so come on down and say hi if you are in the area as I have a ton of womenswear from basics to sparkly dresses. Even if you don't see anything you like you can just enjoy a glass of Champers and home made cupcake as I'll be donating a percentage of the proceeds to Macmillan cancer support.

Stars, stripes and a bit of purple

I’m wondering how everyone else has got on the past couple of weeks in the sales? I’ve actually managed to restrain myself and only purchase a few pieces that I know will be an investment and won’t hang in my wardrobe for a year unworn. I’m so pleased with my sample sale 3.1 Phillip Lim dress which I’ve already worn twice and with 80% off its original price and several compliments....well its already paid for itself.

I’m still trying to rope someone into taking outfit photos of me. So for now I’ll have to post still life images, promise I’ll get some better ones up soon! Hope you are all having a fun weekend.

I recently went to Vintage Nation held at Brighton Race course, I love the lanes in Brighton and could spend all day digging for 2nd hand gems. The event was really lovely with a large room full of (reasonably priced) clothes and accessory stalls and with a warm and friendly atmosphere it was easy to make a few purchases. This Star print dress caught my eye on the first stall I went to, I made a deal with myself to check out the whole room first and if it was still there when I go back its meant to be. It was there and it was in my size! The stall was owned by Splendid Vintage, a cute couple who were a delight to chat to.

White Peplum

I'm thrilled the Peplum is back! It works particularly well with my body shape and is incredibly flattering, nipping me in at the smallest part of my waist. Its also great at creating curves for those of you that are a bit 'straight up and down'. I'm loving the white versions around on the high street at the moment, team it with a pastel coloured blazer and you're good to go!

Sale away with me

So the sales are here and my goodness they are good! If you were lucky enough to get to Selfridges at 8am on Thursday I hope you grabbed a bargain, I was quietly weeping over the half price Mulberry bags online knowing I had a pending mortgage meeting with my accountant. In the meeting he makes it clear to me that I need to save every penny, I assure him I will try not to spend and bid him farewell. I then remember there was a Kat Maconie sample sale, so I pop in with the intention of just browsing but with 70% off it would be rude not to make a purchase. I leave with a pair of ankle boots and tan t-bars. Ssshhhh, don’t tell my accountant.
